For many, the motorcycle is a life’s symbol representing freedom, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. And like all ambitious pursuits, it comes at a cost that (we fear) ranges from injury to death.

Britt Santowski taught motorcycle safety for nine years at the Vancouver Island’s Safety Council. As a Chief Instructor, she’ll be the first to tell you that education and mindset are the best ways to navigate risk in the pursuit of a dream.

Britt got into teaching so that she could (especially) help other women learn how to ride (yes, men inadvertently benefited from her excellent teaching as well). She quickly learned that the challenge for many women wasn’t in learning the mechanics but rather in mastering the mindset. Fueled by passion, a woman would learn to ride quite quickly; Ruled by fear, she would struggle and eventually quit.

This spawned an interest in women’s confidence in general, and in partnership with an experienced facilitator and mentor, Britt developed Confidence 101, a course designed to teach the success mindset. The results of that course coupled with her own lens of life as a woman, motivated her to write her first book, The Three Strategies of the Unstoppable Woman, scheduled for release in early 2010.

Britt Santowski is a retired Chief Motorcycle Instructor turned author, educator and life coach, with a rather extensive background in counseling, communications (writing, web, facilitation and speaking) and support services. She received her BA in 1991 from the University of Waterloo, and her MA in 1995 from Memorial University of Newfoundland.

Britt has over 10 years experience running workshops, coaching and impacting lives, and has run courses on Confidence, Motorcycle Skills, and Computer Software.
